Based on 1 John 1:3 “That which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ”
Beloved, let me tell ya somethin’ that’ll set your soul on fire: Our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ. Now, that ain’t just a nice idea—that’s heaven itself droppin’ into your lap. Full joy, full peace, full life—right here, right now.
What’s This Fellowship All About?
- Union with God
You ever seen two friends so close they finish each other’s sentences? That’s how it is with God and His people. We’re joined to Him—like branches to a vine, like a bride to her groom. Christ ain’t just with us; He’s in us. Galatians 2:20 says it plain: “I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.” You want to know where heaven is? It ain’t just up there—it’s right here, ’cause where God is, there’s heaven. - Shared Life
God don’t hold nothin’ back from His children. His mercy? Ours. His strength? Ours. His peace? Ours. And get this—He takes our burdens and calls ’em His own. When you’re weak, He says, “My power’s made perfect in that weakness” (2 Cor. 12:9). When you’re lost, He says, “I AM the Way” (John 14:6). Y’all, we’re heirs—not just to crumbs, but to the whole Kingdom (Rom. 8:17). - Walking & Talking with God
Think of Enoch—man walked with God so close, one day he just stepped into eternity. That’s the life He offers you. Prayer ain’t just askin’ for things—it’s sittin’ on the porch with your Heavenly Father, sharin’ your heart. And His Word? It’s His love letter, His roadmap, His whisper in the dark. Psalm 23 says it best: “He leads me beside still waters… His rod and staff comfort me.”
Why It Matters
- For God’s Glory: When we live close to Him, His light shines through us. Folks’ll see His kindness in your words, His patience in your struggles, His joy in your praise.
- For Your Good: There’s no sweeter peace than resting in His presence. No storm can shake you when you’re anchored to the Rock. No valley’s too dark when He’s your Shepherd.
How to Keep This Fellowship Alive
- Fix Your Eyes on Jesus
Quit starin’ at the waves—look at the One who walks on ’em (Matt. 14:30). Spend time in His Word. Let His truth drown out the world’s noise. - Cut Ties with Sin
You can’t dance with the devil and hold hands with Jesus. Repent quick, run hard, and let grace pick you up when you stumble. - Love His People
The Church ain’t a buildin’—it’s a family. Serve ’em. Forgive ’em. Bear each other’s burdens. “By this, all will know you’re Mine” (John 13:35). - Live Like You’re His
You’re a child of the King—act like it. Let your words bless, your hands heal, your life point straight to Him.
Friends, this ain’t about religion—it’s about relationship. God ain’t far off. He’s callin’ you today: “Come to Me. Find rest. Let’s walk this road together.”
So what’ll it be? Will you drift through life, or will you grab hold of the One who’s holdin’ you? The door’s open. The table’s set. His arms are wide.
Let’s pray.
Heavenly Father, we don’t wanna settle for crumbs when You’ve laid out a feast. Draw us close. Break every chain keepin’ us from You. May our lives shout Your glory ’til the whole world knows—our fellowship is with the Father and His Son. Amen.
